To A Passerby Feminist

By Victor Zen responds to the following comment from “real” feminist Amelie Mangelschots. Amelie has the unusual quality of being respectful and polite in her approach, but Zen still manages to identify her dogmatic influences in a response.
Amelie’s original comment follows (edited for spelling and format):

Hi!
I would like to respectfully point out something I consider flawed logic in your video…  You say feminism is not what it claims to be, that feminism fails to keep its promises, … What I heard as evidence for this, were some examples of people who claim to be feminists who’ve done some pretty horrible shit in the name of it.  I get that that’s upsetting and intolerable.

Rickards Predicts Financial Collapse: Death Of Money Interview

Transcription with James G. Rickards - author, economist, lawyer, investment banker and portfolio manager at West Shore Funds

Lelde Smits: Hello I’m Lelde Smits for Australia’s Finance News Network and joining me today in Sydney to discuss his latest book is author, economist, lawyer, investment banker and portfolio manager at West Shore Funds, Jim Rickards. Jim, great to speak with you Down Under.

Jim Rickards: Great to see you Lelde. It’s fantastic to be here. Love Australia.

Lelde Smits: Before “The Death of Money” “Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crisis” was released in 2011.  How does Death of Money expand on your original piece?

Jim Rickards: It’s a great question. I tell people it’s a prequel and a sequel and here’s what I mean – Currency wars opened with a couple of chapters about the first financial war game conducted by the Pentagon. And, there is a geopolitical aspect to what I am doing as well and we did it at a top secret weapons laboratory outside of Washington and we had a Russia team and a China team and we played this all out over a couple of days.

Institutionalized Misandry: The Interview With Miles Groth They Won’t Want You To Read

"I would like to see the establishment of a men’s study group on every college and university campus in the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South America."
By In the current political climate, the topic of “women’s issues” makes daily headlines and is regularly featured as a priority on television and radio. But what about men?
In the face of some alarming statistics with respect to male enrollments in college and male suicide rates, I was left wondering: why is this happening and what’s being done about it?
I sought out the expert opinion of Dr. Miles Groth, a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Wagner College. In addition to being a practicing psychoanalyst in New York for thirty-five years, Dr. Groth is founding editor of New Male Studies: An International Journal, a consultant for publications and international policy-making organizations on boys’ and men’s health, and was the editor of two journals, International Journal of Men’s Health and Thymos: Journal of Boyhood Studies.
I spoke with Dr. Groth not only about the aforementioned alarming statistics, but also about the role of modern feminism in it all, what’s really going on in some Gender Studies classes and the response by female students, the formation of men’s centers and subsequent reaction by some female faculty, the distortion of  the word “sexist,” and more.
And now, for the interview some won’t want you to read…
JB: Your research focuses on declining enrollments of males in college—currently at 40%—and how that relates to the way men are experiencing campus life and the college classroom. Can you tell us about what you have discovered?
MG: At this point, I wish it were 40%, but the latest data show a nationwide rate of 37%.

How To Live The Good Life And Have No Regrets When You’re Old

Angelo Agathangelou: Thanks to Daniel for the following common sense article and advice to break the grip of shame and other self imposed limitations. ..and some links to various other bricks of logic.

By Daniel Efosa Uyi: After 14 months away I find myself back in the the UK for a brief visit. Family and friends, hi and bye, that type of deal.
Visiting is fine and dandy but I won’t have any regrets when I get on a transpacific plane and head back out into the wild.
I don’t have any “hard feelings” about the UK, I was born here to my Nigerian parents so that makes me a Nigerian too but I find my choice to live abroad to be one of the better choices I have ever made.
I get asked all the time why I don’t live in UK but rather choose to live abroad.
I’ll tell you why, in the simplest manner I can….
I don’t live in the UK because I don’t want to.
I live a life of choice and I have chosen to live abroad.
When you have the choice, the ability to do anything, you start to ask yourself questions like “why?”.
  • Why do I live here or why do I live there?
  • Why am I working this job I hate?
Etc… When you can answer the “why” question you may realize you have no reason to do what you are doing.
You may realize you have the power to choose.
You may realize one simple fact of life: you can change the things you don’t like. You may realize that you aren’t stuck.
