Education, Robots and Cosmos + 3-D Printed Car Strong As Steel, Half the Weight, Nearing Production + Jet Engine made on a 3D Printer

By : What the heck do these three things have to do with each other? Well, originally I had three different blog ideas. They are very related so I figured it would be better to include them in one post.
Let’s begin with robots.

Robots Will Have Your Job

Bill Gates said it. Not me. In this interview, Gates claims that in 20 years there are many jobs that will be replaced by robots. I don’t think this is a crazy idea.
Just think about it. Right now if you need someone to drive you to the airport, you could get a taxi. That taxi is driven by a human and that is the human’s job. But wait! There is the Google self-driving car. Sure, they aren’t super popular, but they already exist. So why not have this Google car drive you to the airport? Wouldn’t that be better for everyone? Well, I guess it wouldn’t be better for the human that was replaced by a robot.
I was working on a small project with my older son. We were talking about this idea of robots taking over the world. The conversation went something like this:

Studies Confirm The Dehumanization Of Black Boys And The ‘Preschool-To-Prison Pipeline’

By Sonali Kolhatkar: Although African-Americans constitute only 13 percent of all Americans, nearly half of all prison inmates in the U.S. are black. This startling statistic has led the United Nations Human Rights Committee to publicly criticize the U.S. for its treatment of African-Americans. A number of recent studies and reports paint a damning picture of how American society dehumanizes blacks starting from early childhood.
Racial justice activists and prison abolition groups have long argued that the “school-to-prison” pipeline funnels young black kids into the criminal justice system, with higher rates of school suspension and arrest compared with nonblack kids for the same infractions. More than 20 years ago, Smith College professor Ann Arnett Ferguson wrote a groundbreaking book based on her three-year study of how black boys in particular are perceived differently starting in school. In “Bad Boys: Public Schools in the Making of Black Masculinity,” Ferguson laid out the ways in which educators and administrators funneled black male students into the juvenile justice system based on perceived differences between them and other students.

#Reoccupy The World: WaveOfAction Sweeps The Globe + Brussels: Police Disperse Protesters With Tear Gas, Water Cannon

RT: Anti-corruption activists launched a three-month campaign at hundreds of former Occupy locations to kick off their own ‘#GlobalSpring’ of social, economic and political reform.
The crowd sourced campaign will officially begin at approximately 16:00 GMT on Friday and is set to conclude in the heart of summer, on July 4th.
“On April 4th, there will be launch celebrations at hundreds of former Occupy locations globally. We will honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy of nonviolent action and spend the day connecting with allies and strategizing spring action campaigns,” an event organizer says in a statement.
As has become part and parcel of the Occupy movement, the group is low on concrete demands, saying that the campaign will become what you, the people, make of it, self-organizing and organically evolving, a new culture will emerge.”

Feminist Rape Culture Statuatory Edition

By Alison Tieman (aka Typhon Blue): On this past thursday, march 27, Dr Janice Fiamego gave a talk at At Queens University in Toronto, Canada titled: What’s Equality Got To Do With it? Men’s Issues and Feminism’s Double Standards
During that talk she was heckled by feminists. Afterward the first person who spoke during the question and answer period was one Adele Mercier, feminist philosophy professor at Queens University.
Remember that name. Adele Mercier. She makes a reappearance later on in this story.

The Everyday Sexism Project: Key Element In “Fourth Wave” Feminism

By : My eternal thanks to a longstanding supporter and donor to the party, Cathy, for alerting me to a book which was published on 8 December 2013, my 56th birthday – Kira Cochrane’s All the Rebel Women: The rise of the fourth wave of feminism (Guardian shorts).
The Kindle edition is the equivalent of just 71 pages – it was clearly judged prudent not to exhaust the brains of fledgling feminists – and very reasonably priced at £1.99, about a third of the price of my own Feminism: the ugly truth. Its sales put it at #2 in the ‘Feminist Criticism’ category, well ahead of my book, it has to be said. The book’s full Product Description on Amazon:

On a bright day at the Epsom Derby, 4 June 1913, Emily Wilding Davison was hit by the king’s horse in one of the defining moments of the fight for women’s suffrage – what became known as feminism’s first wave.
The second wave arose in the late-1960s, activists campaigning tirelessly for women’s liberation, organising around a wildly ambitious slate of issues – a struggle their daughters continued in the third wave that blossomed in the early-1990s.
Now, a hundred years on from the campaign for the vote, fifty years since the very first murmurs of the second wave movement, a new tide of feminist voices is rising.

The American Government Is Open for Corruption + U.S. P.I.G.: Promotion Given To US Cops Who Shot Occupy Activist + Call Me When You're Free

By Brandon Turbeville: As if there was any doubt that police departments all across America are rewarding their officers for egregious acts of violence, the Oakland police department has recently promoted two of the police officers involved in the shooting of Occupy activist Scott Olsen.Olsen, readers may remember, was an Occupy activist and Iraq war veteran who was shot in the head with beanbag bullets by Oakland police in 2011. Olsen was only about fifteen feet away from the officer who shot him, fracturing his skull and sending him to the hospital in critical condition. Police also fired flash grenades at activists who rushed to Olsen’s aid and continued to assault the demonstrators as they attempted to drag Olsen to safety and provide him with medical attention. Olsen temporarily lost his ability to speak, perform basic motor functions, and concentrate adequately. While he has recovered the ability to speak, his speech is still slurred and his memory and concentration are still significantly impaired.
Yet despite the fact that the City of Oakland was forced to pay out $4.5 million to Olsen in a settlement, the Oakland Police Department has now promoted two of the cops involved in the shooting.
Even more concerning is the fact that one of the officers, Paul Figueroa, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Police Chief and is now the second in command of the Oakland Police Department.

Shocking Facts About The Deindustrialization Of America That Everyone Should Know

Abandoned Packard Automobile Factory - Photo by Albert DuceBy Michael Snyder: How long can America continue to burn up wealth How long can this nation continue to consume far more wealth than it produces?  The trade deficit is one of the biggest reasons for the steady decline of the U.S. economy, but many Americans don't even understand what it is.  Basically, we are buying far more stuff from the rest of the world than they are buying from us.  That means that far more money is constantly leaving the country than is coming into the country.  In order to keep the game going, we have to go to the people that we bought all of that stuff from and ask them to lend our money back to us.  Or lately, we just have the Federal Reserve create new money out of thin air.  This is called "quantitative easing".  Our current debt-fueled lifestyle is dependent on this cycle continuing.  In order to live like we do, we must consume far more wealth than we produce.  If someday we are forced to only live on the wealth that we create, it will require a massive adjustment in our standard of living.  We have become great at consuming wealth but not so great at creating it.  But as a result of running gigantic trade deficits year after year, we have lost tens of thousands of businesses, millions upon millions of jobs, and America is being deindustrialized at a staggering pace.
Most Americans won't even notice, but the latest monthly trade deficit increased to 42.3 billion dollars...

Conspiracy Fact - How The U.S. Government Covertly Invented A “Cuban Twitter” To Create Revolution

By Michael Krieger: It appears the U.S. government is doing its best to ensure that nobody anywhere in any corner of planet earth will ever trust American technology again (or U.S. aid for that matter). This process of distrust first really got going with the Edward Snowden revelations, which demonstrated that essentially all major U.S. tech firms are mere wards of the state with little to no privacy protections, and absolutely zero backbone.
This story of the U.S. government covertly creating a “Cuban Twitter” called ZunZuneo in order to overthrow the regime there has enormous long-term ramifications on many, many levels, which I will address throughout this post.
From the AP via The Washington Post:
WASHINGTON — In July 2010, Joe McSpedon, a U.S. government official, flew to Barcelona to put the final touches on a secret plan to build a social media project aimed at undermining Cuba’s communist government.
McSpedon and his team of high-tech contractors had come in from Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Washington and Denver. Their mission: to launch a messaging network that could reach hundreds of thousands of Cubans. To hide the network from the Cuban government, they would set up a byzantine system of front companies using a Cayman Islands bank account, and recruit unsuspecting executives who would not be told of the company’s ties to the U.S. government.
McSpedon didn’t work for the CIA. This was a program paid for and run by the U.S. Agency for International Development, best known for overseeing billions of dollars in U.S. humanitarian aid.
Now we can pretty much guarantee that foreign nations will forever be skeptical of any U.S. “aid”. Great work morons.

The ‘Recovery’ Of Greece: Fraud And Fiction

Historians now cast doubt as to whether this line was ever uttered by her, and it’s quite possible it was merely attributed to her as a means of attacking her reputation. However, the allegory itself has survived. Why? Because whether or not this anecdote is authentic; the symbol is an eternal one: elitist Oligarchs dwelling in their ivory towers, so totally out of touch with ordinary people (and reality) that their perspective on the real world is naïve and/or absurd.
In the 21st century, we see that this same Ivory Tower remains intact, and is currently situated at the headquarters of Bloomberg News. Do the drones who work for this den of elitism prescribe “eating cake” to feed the 100+ million unemployed across the Western world, or to mitigate the 50+% collapse in the standard of living of ordinary people in the West?
No. Bloomberg’s callous elitism is much more corporate in nature, and demonstrated in stark/absurd terms, in its piece of Marie Antoinette “journalism” from March 27th:

Greece Is Pulling Off an Amazing Recovery
Of what “recovery” does Bloomberg speak? Did Greece’s corrupt coalition government find any jobs for the 27% of the Greek population “officially” unemployed (real unemployment is closer to 50%)? Of course not. The Traitor Governments of the West don’t “create jobs” – they only destroy them.
So what is this “amazing recovery”?
