Time For CAFE To Change The Menu + In Toronto And Detroit, Activists Allow Gender Ideologues To Betray Gay Men

By If I ever wrote something that demanded qualification up front, this is it. I want to go on the record saying that I am a personal supporter of the Canadian Association for Equality (CAFE), have donated money to them, attended their events, put this website to use regularly disseminating their press releases and have been harshly critical of those who have actively sought to silence their voices.
I sometimes wonder if that support has been my wisest choice.
My feelings along this line are not because representatives from CAFE have publicly thrown AVFM under the bus, even though they have. Nor is it because of the massive elephant that was in the room during the Miles Groth lecture last year, when they thanked so many people for helping them host the event, except for AVFM (after we – meaning AVFM readers — helped them raise six times the security money needed for their presentation).
At this same event a CAFE representative proudly, publicly, and quite sneeringly scoffed at the idea of men’s “rights,” a shot I interpreted as a direct insult to those of us who actually believe men should have them.
However, my concerns about CAFE now are deeper and more ominous than media miscues, thoughtless remarks and intentional lapses in decorum.

Billionaire Tells Americans to Prepare For 'Financial Ruin' + American Cities Cutting Off Clean Water For The Poor?

By Newsmax Wires: The United States could soon become a large-scale Spain or Greece, teetering on the edge of financial ruin.
That’s according to Donald Trump, who painted a very ugly picture of where this country is headed. Trump made the comments during a recent appearance on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”

According to Trump, the United States is no longer a rich country. When you’re not rich, you have to go out and borrow money. We’re borrowing from the Chinese and others. We’re up to $16 trillion in debt.”

He goes on to point out that the downgrade of U.S. debt is inevitable.

We are going up to $16 trillion [in debt] very soon, and it’s going to be a lot higher than that before he gets finished. When you have [debt] in the $21-$22 trillion, you are talking about a downgrade no matter how you cut it.”

Ballooning debt and a credit downgrade aren’t Trump’s only worries for this country. He says that the official unemployment rate of 8.2 percent “isn’t a real number” and that the real figure is closer to 15 percent to 16 percent. He even mentioned that some believe the unemployment rate to be as high as 21 percent.

Right now, frankly, the country isn’t doing well,” Trump added, Recession may be a nice word.”

Yes, There’s Wood Pulp in Burgers…Here’s Why I Think it Matters

By Michael Krieger: On Monday, Quartz published an article by Devin Cohen titled, There is a Secret Ingredient in Your Burgers: Wood Pulp. Given the headline and people’s already present suspicion regarding all of the shady and potentially dangerous ingredients hidden in food items, the article gained a lot of traction. In subsequent days, most journalists and bloggers have focused on the dangers of this additive (unclear) and whether or not it is pervasive throughout the food chain as opposed to just fast food (it appears to be).

The one angle that has not been explored as much is the overall trend. Let’s go ahead and assume that wood pulp is a safe thing to consume, it certainly seems to have no nutritional value whatsoever. So why are companies inserting it into food items? To mask inflation and earn more profits most likely. This was a major theme I focused on last year in a series of pieces on stealth inflation and food fraud, a couple of which can be read below:

The Quartz article notes that:

There may be more fiber in your food than you realized. Burger King, McDonald’s and other fast food companies list in the ingredients of several of their foods, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) or “powdered cellulose” as components of their menu items. Or, in plain English, wood pulp.

Palestinians Clash With Apartheid Israeli Death Squads After Teen Murder

Clashes have broken out between Palestinians and Israeli death squads after the body of a Palestinian teenage boy kidnapped in al-Quds (Jerusalem) was found.
Orwellian UK BANNED Press TV: A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday held Israel responsible for the youth’s death, saying Tel Aviv must "find the killers."
Abbas has demanded that Israel take concrete steps to stop attacks on Palestinians.
The protests became violent after Israeli troops fired tear gas to disperse the crowds.
Yusuf Abu Zagher, 18, was found dead after being forced into a vehicle outside a supermarket in a region in the occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem) early on Wednesday.
Israeli media sources close to the army said that the body of the Palestinian teenager was found in a forest in Beit Hanina within hours. They said the Palestinian boy was apparently killed in a revenge attack.”
The incident happened a day after Israel buried three settlers, whose bodies had been found in a field near the village of Hilhul, north of the city of al-Khalil (Hebron) in the West Bank. Tel Aviv claims the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, is responsible for the death of the three. Hamas rejects the allegation.
Israeli death squads killed several Palestinians and arrested hundreds of others, including Hamas members and lawmakers, as part of the military aggression...

Astounding Event: First Ever International Men And Boys' Issues Conference

By If you missed the International Men’s Issues Conference in June of 2014 you missed an astounding event. Lucky for you it is now online and viewable. (links at the end of this post ) The consistent theme that was heard repeatedly during the event was that the old narrative is woefully inadequate and is being replaced with a new one that improves the focus of compassion and choice to everyone, not just a select few. Exposing this old narrative came from almost each speaker and was described in a wide variety of ways.
I do hope that those who attacked this conference and unsuccessfully tried to shut it down by sending death threats to innocent people will take the time to listen to these presentations. I think if they take the time to do this that they will find that the speakers all offer a similar message of wanting the best for all people, not just a select few. They are truly humanitarians. How could anyone want to shut down a humanitarian event?
I am reminded of a book I read many years ago. It was a book on human evil by Scott Peck. The title was People of the Lie: The Hope for Healing Human Evil. In it, Peck explained that evil was most often practiced by those who would attack others rather than deal with their own failings. This sort of attack would then leave what Peck described as the hallmark of evil, it would leave a huge amount of chaos in its wake. Of course I won’t need to remind anyone that men’s issues consistently focus on events and problems where men and boys are facing huge amounts of chaos whether it is the family court traumas, the domestic violence industry, or some other misandrist avenue.

1 Million More Slip Into Poverty In UK: TUC

A million more working-age adults in Britain have fallen into poverty over the last two years as the living standards continue to deteriorate in the European country, according to Britain’s Trades Union Congress (TUC).
Orwellian UK BANNED Press TV: The TUC announcement came on the same day that the Office for National Statistics (ONS) published the latest Household Below Average Income figures in the UK.
The TUC seized on the annual statistics, saying they suggested that between 2010-11 and 2012-13, the number of working-age adults in absolute poverty increased from 7.7 million to 8.7 million, and the number of children from 3.6 to 4.1 million over the same period.
Since the last election, a million more adults and half a million more children fell into absolute poverty when housing costs are taken into account,” said TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady, adding that this type of poverty will grow in case of inaction to tackle the problem of soaring housing costs and stagnant wages.
Analysts believe wage stagnation, benefits and tax credit cuts and rising prices are the main reasons behind the falling living standards in the UK.
This is while the British coalition government insists that poverty is decreasing in the country.

The First International Conference on Men’s Issues, Sponsored by A Voice for Men, SGW and Fellow MHRA's

By : Sponsored by A Voice for Men and friends, the First International Conference on Men’s Issues was held just outside Detroit, Michigan, this last weekend, June 26-28. Quite fittingly, it was held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall #1146 in St. Clair Shores.
As someone who has volunteered at and attended numerous conferences and symposia and been a part of this movement for several years now, I was interested in seeing how it would go. To understand what this conference fully means is only possible if you have been living in this movement for years. As I told Bob O’Hara (AVfM News Director), it is nothing short of the culmination of five years of hard, grinding work, with the implications of finally mounting a movement centered on men’s equality issues.

The US Government Tells The Whole World To Go FATCA Themselves

If you want to gather honey, don’t kick over the beehive.
This was how Dale Carnegie titled the first chapter of his 1936 personal development masterpiece—How to Win Friends and Influence People.
Carnegie had sensible advice: if you want to keep people on your team, first and foremost don’t piss them off. Duh. Seems pretty obvious.
I think the US government could use a little Dale Carnegie right about now (I actually just ordered a copy and had it sent to the President. You’re welcome, BO.)
Because based on the way they’re acting, you’d think they were test-driving an entirely different manuscript—How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.
Exhibit A: FATCA.
Four years ago, the US government passed this absurd law requiring every bank in the world to enter into an information-sharing agreement with the IRS.
Those who don’t will be subject to a 30% withholding tax on certain funds that get routed through the United States banking system.
What’s more, every bank on the planet is somehow supposed to simultaneously keep track of every other bank in the world and know precisely who is / is not in compliance with the law.
Banks that are in compliance are supposed to withhold the 30% tax on any funds transferred with banks that are not in compliance… otherwise they risk the withholding tax penalty themselves.
