First And Second Wave Of The Men’s Rights Movement

Mirriam-Webster MOVEMENT
a : tendency, trend
b : a series of organized activities working toward an objective.

The Farlex Free Dictionary MOVEMENT
a. A series of actions and events taking place over a period of time and working
to foster a principle or policy: e.g. a movement toward world peace.
b. A tendency or trend: e.g. a movement toward larger kitchens.

The first-wave of the Men’s Rights Movement:
By While slowly increasing its membership the Men’s Rights Movement (MRM) has until recently consisted of various groups or individuals fighting for improved social and legal rights for men. Historically these groups consisted of individual men, or small collectives of men, along with the occasional sympathetic woman, who agitated for corrections to anti-male laws, the reinforcement of men’s right to live traditional or alternative male roles if they so choose, and to challenge the growing misandry that was attacking that freedom of choice via its manipulation of the social and legal environment. The accompanying (and not less important) of its aims has been to challenge the gynocentric customs rooted in mainstream culture which have tended to reinforce sexism.
The following is a small sampling of Men’s Human Rights initiatives constituting the first wave, a list that could be easily expanded into thousands of men’s rights initiatives by the dilligent researcher. Bear in mind that although we are talking of a single MRM, it is more accurately defined as the aggregate of separate MRM initiatives:

Systema - Way of the Warrior + Barbarossa - A Man Going His Own Way

"Systema empowered me. It allowed me to celebrate my masculinity, my purpose, I could shed the skin of a former life and I didn't have to compromise. Every interaction with others is an opportunity to learn, especially from those that attack you or wish you harm. So embrace every moment as an opportunity and wherever you are in life, whatever path you are on, we need to claim these experiences and our rights as men, no apologies." Spetsnaz

Don’t Nigggerise Me! A Perspective On Misandry

AVfM Editorial Note: The misspelling in the title is deliberate. In this emotive and perhaps controversial article, Archi draws on his experiences of growing up in 1960s Britain to propose a variation of a very powerful word in order to combat 21st-century prejudice.- DE
By : I was born in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. I was three months old when my parents emigrated to London. It was May 1961—shortly before Independence. I was brought up in the culture of the Indian diaspora and wasn’t really aware of any other culture until I started primary school at the age of five.
Primary school was very strenuous because I didn’t speak much English, and I remember the complete and utter isolation quite vividly. I don’t remember my progress in the command of English, but what I do remember was the hostility of the place and how other kids were not nice. Beyond the few English words I’d learned from home, the first words I would know would include sambo, nig nog, and golliwog. I didn’t realise they were insults at first, and simply thought those were names they had for me. I don’t remember the word pakki being so frequently used back then, although I would hear it a lot as I got older. (The word pakki was a derogatory term used in the UK to describe South Asian people and is equivalent to nigger.)
I remember when the penny dropped, however …
One of the kids showed me a picture. I’m not sure what kind of ape or monkey it was, but it was a primate. Then he did the actions and sound effects, and everyone in the class pointed and laughed while saying, Jungle bunny! Jungle bunny!” I think that was when I first realised that I was somehow less than human.

WWIII Cometh?

corbettreport: As military tensions mount around the globe, and the "New Cold War" begins to heat up, is there an endgame in sight? How do NATO, Russia, China, and other BRICS nations fit into the picture? What is Russia really up to in Latin America? Given the historical and economic implications of WWI and WWII, who stands to gain from an all-out global confrontation - and in what way? And, of course, the most important question of all, just what the hell can we do about it? Serious stuff. NO LAUGHING MATTER. But we find a way to do it anyway.

Switzerland ‘Won’t Extradite Snowden’ In Return For Truth On US Spooks

RT: Switzerland has reportedly decided it will not extradite National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden to the US if he comes to testify against the NSA’s spying activities, Swiss media said.
In the document, titled “What rules are to be followed if Edward Snowden is brought to Switzerland and then the United States makes an extradition request,” Switzerland’s Attorney General stated that Snowden should be guaranteed safety if he arrives to the country to testify, Sonntags Zeitung reported.

In particular, the report proposes to ensure the whistleblower’s safety by inviting him as a witness to a parliamentary hearing focusing on the NSA’s surveillance practices.

In the document, the authority said that Switzerland does not extradite a US citizen, if the individual’s “actions constitute a political offense, or if the request has been politically motivated,” Swiss ATS news agency reported.

Snowden’s safety can thus be guaranteed if it is ruled that the charges against him have a “predominantly political character,” the document concluded.

Big Time Waste And Feminist Corruption In Romania By The European Union - Part Two

By We continue today with the second part of the series started on AVfM Romania in which we aim to document the waste of taxpayers’ money that takes place in Romania in the name of helping women - a waste that at the end of the day helps neither women nor the society as a whole. A waste that helps solely the group of ideologues who populate many NGOs as well as an extended clique of corrupted individuals financed by an ideologically driven European Union.
We will focus today on the project called Media Fem—Școala Națională de Jurnalism (Media Fem—The National School of Journalism)—a project that was intensely promoted on almost all online platforms, but a project about which nobody asked the right questions: namely, why? and who? The question of who is one with a very complicated answer but an answer that the public must be aware of. So we will patiently analyze who are the initiators of this project and then will answer the question of why? after we have examined the context of the project.
The initiators
According to the press communiques1, the project is initiated by the firm SC Blockbuster Media SRLnote 1 in partnership with The Association “Jurnalism pentru Șanse Egale” (JSE—Journalism for Equal Opportunities) and is co-funded by the main instrument of wasting Romanian and EU taxpayers’ money—POSDRUnote 2—through the contract registered as POSDRU/144/6.3/S/129408, with a total eligible value of 17,129,034 RON (3.9 million €).

Nukes For Palestine

JTO: It is obvious even to lay observers that the extermination of the Palestinian civilian population will continue until it is complete, or until it is stopped by the potential of an actual consequence to the aggressing nation. To this end,
Palestine must become a nuclear power.

Fear, Loathing And Paranoia In An All-Exclusive Society

By Don Quijones: As cities around the globe continue to grow far beyond their city limits, heavily patrolled perimeter fencing and high walls are becoming a common feature of the urban and suburban landscape. Intended to provide a sense of serenity and security for high-income city dwellers, gated communities are sprouting like transgenic mushrooms, including in relatively low-crime regions of North America and Europe.
In the United States alone more than 11 million housing units – equating to roughly 10 percent of the country’s housing stock – are in gated communities, according to 2009 Census Bureau data. What’s more, it’s a trend that’s picking up pace, with gated communities accounting for more than half of all new housing developments.
As Edward J. Blakely and Mary Gail Snyder noted in their landmark study Fortress America: Gated Communities in the United States, the unprecedented growth in walled cities and gated communities belies the rise of a new fortress mentality in America:

Americans are electing to live behind walls with active security mechanisms to prevent intrusion into their private domains. Americans of all classes are forting up, attempting to secure the value of their houses, reduce or escape from the impact of crime, and find neighbors who share their sense of the good life. The new fortress developments are predominantly suburban, with a growing number of urban inner-city counterparts.
A similar trend is taking place across many European nations, in particular in France, the UK and Poland.

Europe Goes "All In": Will Sanction Rosneft, Gazprom Neft And Transneft

Tyler Durden's picture Until this moment, the main reason why everyone mostly dismissed Europe's sanctions against Russia is that despite all its pompous rhetoric, Europe consistently refused to hit Russia where it would hurt: its energy titans Gazprom, Rosneft And Transfneft. The reason is simple: by imposing sanctions on these core energy exporters, Europe would directly threaten the stability of its own energy imports (Russia accounts for up to 30% of German gas imports), and as winter approaches with every passing day, playing with the energy status quo would seem like economic suicide. This all appears to have changed last Friday, when as the FT reports from a leaked copy, Europe's latest sanctions round will boldly go where Europe has never dared to go before, and impose sanctions on the big three: Rosneft, Gazprom Neft and Transneft.
