What Happens When Scottish Voters Give Their 110%, According To CNN

Explaining Ferguson, Missouri, USA To Your Children

The Dissident Dad: One of the toughest questions my 4 year old son has asked me to date is, “Are the police good guys or bad guys?”
After depriving him of all TV for the first 2 years of his life, occasionally him and I will sit down on the couch and look for YouTube clips of my favorite super-hero movie scenes. I’ll never forget my son’s face and reaction while watching a scene from the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ where Batman, played by Christian Bale, is being chased on his motorcycle by literally hundreds of police cars. My son turned to me and said, “but I thought Batman was a good guy. Daddy, are the police good guys or bad guys?”
Since day one I have taught my children that the government is not our friend; it doesn’t mean government is our enemy, but I have raised them to not have a default trust in any government or its representatives, including the police.
Government is not an institution that deserves any admiration in my opinion, at least not in its current form here in the U.S. Throughout history, governments regularly kill, destroy, lie, and engage in thievery as a virtue.
Perhaps one day I will teach my children about the America that was supposed to be. A grand experiment of human freedom, but for now, all they need to know is that the government is largely a force of violence and theft, regularly stealing money from our family and then using those funds to preserve a bloated class of sociopaths domestically, and military aggression abroad.

Why Feminists Are Quiet On Rotherham

"...fathers tracked down their daughters and tried to remove them from houses where they were being abused, only to be arrested themselves when police were called to the scene."
By There has been some publicity lately about a report written by Professor Alexis Jay called the “Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation in Rotherham.” Some of this commentary has been about the lack of commentary from feminists, particularly given that most of the children being exploited were females and that exploitation included rape.
Child sexual exploitation, for those of you not current in the Sacred Babble of Feminism, was once known as child prostitution.
A major reason why feminists are reluctant to comment is that these events happened on their watch.

Going Mental: Domestic Violence and Men

"Domestic violence disinformation month coming up!" Paul Elam
Since the Ray and Janay Rice's reciprocal domestic violence incident is currently being rehashed again by the mainstream media and outrage addicts (comprised of clickbait journalists, feminists, social justice warriors, white knights and sheeple) are in an outrage-gasm, we thought it would be a good time to discuss the other half of domestic violence victims.

Desperate Times - Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert with Bill Powers

Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert discuss that only those who can leave behind everything they have ever believed in can hope to escape the coming desperation. From buying water to keep your plants green in a drought to fracking for natural gas at a loss, however, it appears very few are willing to leave behind all that they believe.

Scottish Independence: They Love Democracy So Much They’re Trying To Subvert It

By The polls in Scotland will close this week on one of the more important elections in recent history… perhaps one of the only elections that actually matters.

Rather than a typical vote to see who the captain of the Titanic will be, Scots are deciding whether they want to be free and independent from the UK.
Every eligible voter has a say, and a simple majority decides the outcome for everyone else.
By definition, this is the PUREST possible form of the democratic process.
What’s ironic here is that ‘democracy’ is typically held up as the hallmark of free society.
Western nations have spent years (and trillion of dollars) force-feeding representative ‘democracy’ down the throats of developing countries at gunpoint.
Opening his second Presidential term in 2005, George W. Bush famously told the world that “it is the policy of the United States to seek and support the growth of democratic movements and institutions in every nation and culture. . .”
Given the west’s big love for democracy, you’d think this instance in Scotland– the most fundamental example of the democratic process– would be able to take place free, unfettered, and uninfluenced by government.
Government, in fact, is supposed to be the responsible steward to protect and champion democratic rights. At least, that’s the BS they’re constantly selling us.
But that’s not what’s happening.

It’s Not Just The US Police - The Feds Are Also Militarizing Public Schools With Grenade Launchers, M16s And Tanks

By Michael Krieger: Events last month in Ferguson, Missouri (read my detailed thoughts here) forced Americans to confront the frightening reality that many of of the nation’s police departments have been quietly, but consistently, militarizing over the past couple of decades. It’s one thing to intellectually understand that this has happened, it’s quite another to see cops deploy tanks and point sniper rifles at peacefully protesting U.S. citizens.
Just as disturbing as the scenes themselves, is the fact that this has been happening for so long under the 1033 transfer program with only muted criticism. The program was originated in the late 1990′s under the National Defense Authorization Act of 1997 (recall that the NDAA is also being used to allow for the indefinite detention of American citizens without trial), and it allows for the transfer of excess Department of Defense equipment to domestic police. In other words, it has been public policy for almost two decades to militarize the police.
With the issue squarely still in the public consciousness, it would behoove us to understand that this program is not only arming police with weapons of war. In fact, public schools are also receiving such items, including grenade launchers, M16s and MRAPs.

A Public Bank Option for Scotland

By Ellen Brown: Scottish voters will go to the polls on September 18th to decide whether Scotland should become an independent country
As video blogger Ian R. Crane colorfully puts the issues and possibilities:

[T]he People of Scotland have an opportunity to extricate themselves from the socio-psychopathic global corporatists and the temple of outrageous and excessive abject materialism. However, it is not going to be an easy ride . . . .
