Three Reasons I Don’t Support Feminist Equality Campaigns

This week I was challenged by the university lecturer Martin Robb to stop touting myself as a non-feminist and give my backing to feminist campaigns for gender equality instead, writes Glen Poole.
By Glen Poole: Martin’s challenge was a response to my article in the Daily Telegraph asserting that boys should have a right to choose whether to be feminist or not. So for the benefit of Martin and anyone else who is interested, I thought I’d outline the main three reasons I don’t support feminist campaigns for gender equality. Here they are:

  • I’m not a feminist
  • My definition of gender equalityis different from most feminists
  • Many feminist initiatives designed to “engage men in gender equality” actively exclude non-feminists
That being the case, then why would I support feminist campaigns for gender equality when they don’t align with my own principles?
I’ll expand on these three points in this article but  before I do I’d like to address some of Martin’s comments about me. Firstly, Martin describes me as someone who is “simply playing games with labels” by “touting (myself) as a ‘non’ feminist.”
“Tout” is an interesting word to use.

In the second half, Max interviews Trond Andresen about globalism versus globalization and a progressive nationalism.

Masri exposes US support of ISIS through backing of Israel, Turkey and Saudi Arabia; notes response to Paris attacks reveals Obama, white America' selective view of “humanity”; non-Europeans don't qualify; cites ex-CIA agent Michael Scheuer's CNN comments that only American lives matter as true reflection of US policies; the 20-1 ratio of civilian deaths to intended targets by Obama's drones as another proof;

The Death Of Science - Scientific Corruption And You

Matt says. "I am a clinical scientist who works in a government funded hospital laboratory. Having worked here for sometime, I have concluded that the current model for funding and completing research only breeds fraud and is a waste of resources.

This is not incredibly surprising considering this is generally the case for government funded "anything" but what I have found depressing is the degree to which my colleagues, whom I consider intelligent individuals, vehemently reject this conclusion irrespective of the fact that the evidence is near incontrovertible.

Women Are 35% More Likely To Go To University Than Men

Women are 35% more likely to go to university than men, the widest gap so far, according to annual entry figures.
The Ucas admissions service says record numbers - 532,300 students - began courses in UK universities this autumn.
But there were wide regional variations - with youngsters in London 40% more likely to enter university than those in south-west or north-east England.
Ucas chief Mary Curnock Cook said poor white males should now be the focus of "outreach efforts".
The annual statistics from Ucas show the complete picture of university applications for those starting courses in autumn 2015, with a 3% increase in students compared with last year.

Competing for students

The removal of limits on student numbers saw universities competing for students - and the entry rates show it was easier this year to get into top universities with slightly lower grades.
In students going to the top universities, 26% of entries got places with A-level grades or equivalent below ABB. This was about three percentage points more than last year and 11 percentage points more than four years ago.

You Want War? Russia Is Ready For War

By : Nobody needs to read Zbigniew "Grand Chessboard" Brzezinski's 1997 opus to know US foreign policy revolves around one single overarching theme: prevent - by all means necessary - the emergence of a power, or powers, capable of constraining Washington's unilateral swagger, not only in Eurasia but across the world.
The Pentagon carries the same message embedded in newspeak: the Full Spectrum Dominance doctrine.
Syria is leading all these assumptions to collapse like a house of cards. So no wonder in a Beltway under no visible chain of command -- the Obama administration barely qualifies as lame duck -- angst is the norm.

The Pentagon is now engaged in a Vietnam-style escalation of boots on the ground across "Syraq." Fifty commandos are already in northern Syria "advising" the YPG Syrian Kurds as well as a few "moderate" Sunnis. Translation: telling them what Washington wants them to do. The official White House spin is that these commandos "support local forces" (Obama's words) in cutting off supply lines leading to the fake "Caliphate" capital, Raqqa.

Women In Combat

By : Last week, U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter issued a landmark announcement that beginning in 2016, all combat jobs in all U.S. Armed Forces Branches will be available to women. This includes all special operation forces such as Army Green Berets and Navy Seals.
This decision may now have a blow back effect as military and political leaders are now coming to grips with the fact that women may now be forced to comply with registering with the Selective Service System; meaning that for the first time in our nation’s history, women could be subject to the draft.
Although the draft no longer exists; at least right now, we cannot say that it would not be reinstated given the current state of terrorism in the world today; a level of terrorism that involves barbarism at an epic level; something that hasn’t been seen since the Middle Ages.
The 1981 U.S. Supreme Court case of Rostker vs. Goldberg, officially excluded women from the draft on the premise that women were prohibited from ground combat operations.
A few days after the Defense Department announced that all combat jobs will be open to women, a three-member panel with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit heard arguments in a 2013 lawsuit filed by the National Coalition for Men and James Lesmeister.

What Does Today’s US Fed “Rate Hike” Mean? It's A Con!

By Paul Craig Roberts: The Federal Reserve raised the interbank borrowing rate today by one quarter of one percent or 25 basis points. Readers are asking, “what does that mean?”
It means that the Fed has had time to figure out that the effect of the small “rate hike” would essentially be zero. In other words, the small increase in the target rate from a range of 0 to 0.25% to 0.25 to 0.50% is insufficient to set off problems in the interest-rate derivatives market or to send stock and bond prices into decline.
Prior to today’s Fed announcement, the interbank borrowing rate was averaging 0.13% over the period since the beginning of Quantitative Easing. In other words, there has not been enough demand from banks for the available liquidity to push the rate up to the 0.25% limit. Similarly, after today’s announced “rate hike,” the rate might settle at 0.25%, the max of the previous rate and the bottom range of the new rate.
However, the fact of the matter is that the available liquidity exceeded demand in the old rate range. The purpose of raising interest rates is to choke off credit demand, but there was no need to choke off credit demand when the demand for credit was only sufficient to keep the average rate in the midpoint of the old range. This “rate hike” is a fraud. It is only for the idiots in the financial media who have been going on about a rate hike forever and the need for the Fed to protect its credibility by raising interest rates.
