Robert Wasnick MD, Of Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, “Known Male Infant Genital Mutilator”

By : Robert Wasnick MD [right] of Stony Brook (NY) Children’s Hospital has been placed on the “Known Genital Mutilators” directory at neonatalcutting.org.
He’s part of the supposedly illustrious and cutting-edge (pun intended) medical establishment at Stony Brook Medicine, which is affiliated with Stony Brook University where the HeForShe UN Women’s director recently lapsed into the 19th century, saying condoms are “not the answer,” advocating circumcision to combat HIV. Dr. Wasnick is listed as a specialist at the Department of Pediatric Urology at the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital website.
From the website:
Overview
Part of Stony Brook’s renowned Department of Urology, the Department of Pediatric Urology at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital provides highly specialized care for children with acquired and congenital urologic conditions. As a regional leader, Stony Brook is the only hospital in Suffolk County to offer advanced pediatric urologic procedures such as hypospadias repair surgery, complex reconstructivesurgery, and minimally invasive robotic surgery. It also provides treatment and management for more common urologic conditions including enuresis (bedwetting), voiding dysfunction, hernias, circumcision and undescended testes.”

What doesn’t belong in the first paragraph above? After “repair” and “reconstructivesurgery,” we read about “treatment and management” for “urologic conditions” that include “bedwetting, voiding dysfunction, hernias, undescended testes,” and “circumcision.” How is the foreskin of a normal, healthy baby any more a condition to be fixed anymore than a baby girls genitals?

Our Team
The Pediatric Urology team includes fellowship-trained pediatric urology subspecialists, Robert Wasnick, MD, Chief of Pediatric Urology, and Ezekiel Young, MD. Dr. Wasnick has been named a Best Doctor in New York by Castle Connolly for many years. He was the first board-certified pediatric urologist in Suffolk County and, now along with Dr. Young, they continue to be the only pediatric urologists in Suffolk County.

As the doctor states, surgery on an infant is intimidating for a parent because it comes with special risks. Any loss of blood is more serious than with adults as the infant has little to lose, sometimes resulting in death. The intricate nature of surgery on a tiny penis is also risky as many have too much or too little removed (needing further surgery), as well as entire organs being amputated. All these risks borne by an unconsenting infant for unnecessary surgery – but authorized by others – is illegal and immoral, especially for medical professionals whose motto is to “First, do no harm.” It’s obvious the well being of children is NOT his “highest priority.”
More from the website:
Surgery
Whenever possible, Stony Brook Children’s uses the most minimally invasive surgical techniques available, which help to promote faster recovery, shorter length of stay, and less trauma to the affected area. Some of the urologic surgical procedures available at Stony Brook include:
Hypospadias repair. A reconstructive outpatient surgery typically performed on infants at six months to one year to correct a congenital abnormality of the penile opening. Stony Brook Children’s is the only hospital in Suffolk County to perform this highly specialized procedure, with volumes as high as 40 to 50 a year.
Robot-assisted surgery. This state-of-the-art minimally invasive treatment can address obstructed kidneys or obstructive uropathy. It also can be used in procedures such as robotic pyeloplasty and robotic ureteral reimplantation.
Highly specialized emergency procedures such as surgery for acute torsion of the spermatic cord (twisted testicles).
Repair of hydroceles, a common condition in male infants in which a fluid filled sac surrounds the testicles causes scrotal swelling.
Hernia repair.
Circumcision or circumcision revision, in particular in infants or newly adopted children.
Repair of antenatal congenital fetal abnormalities (obstructive uropathy), such as congenital uretero-pelvic junction obstruction, primary obstructive megaloureter, vesicoureteral reflux, and posterior urethral valves.
Repair of complex genitourinary anomalies.
Despite the claim, this hospital chooses to use risky, unnecessary and invasive surgery on infants unable to consent. This is most likely illegal, despite it’s widespread practice in the U.S.
As mentioned before, the glaring inconsistency of the above listing of surgeries performed is the inclusion of circumcision which doesn’t cure any disease or treat any condition.
Patient Resources Coming soon.
No information about the risks or necessity of any of these surgeries? Why not?
Advances and Recognitions
The Department of Pediatric Urology is fully accredited. Its chief, Dr. Robert Wasnick, is the first physician in Suffolk County to be board-certified in Pediatric Urology. He has also been named a Best Doctor in New York by Castle Connolly.
Too bad supposedly good medical professionals don’t recognize how unethical routine circumcision is; they should ask themselves if female genital mutilation is wrong and why that is.
See me confront the UN Women’s Director at Stony Brook University about the genital mutilation done by these Stony Brook University Affiliates.
Since Dr. Wasnick has NO information about the risks of circumcision, you can read that here at neonatalcutting.org.

About Gary Costanza

Longtime MRA from Long Island, NY , 57 yrs old and and have been active with The National Center for Men, NCFM, AVFM, and continues to be active on and off the street. I had a MRA cable TV show in the early 2000's, and now post MHR videos on my youtube channel where I'm known as jerrytheother. I've attended many protests in the name of MRM - including one leading to us being sandbagged by Micheal Moore on "TV Nation" and being labeled as "angry white men." Well Michael, we're back, with reinforcements!
