The Vagina Tax

Shoe0nHead: women pay more money for more expensive things = sexism.

Increasing Number Of Americans Are ‘Mircodosing’ On Psychedelics To Enhance Mental Performance

Whenever an irrational and inhumane law remains on the books far longer than any thinking person would consider appropriate, there’s usually one reason behind it: money.
Unsurprisingly, the continued federal prohibition on marijuana and its absurd classification as a Schedule 1 drug is no exception. Thankfully, a recent study published in the journal Health Affairs shows us exactly why pharmaceutical companies are one of the leading voices against medical marijuana. It has nothing to do with healthcare and everything to do with corporate greed.
– From last month’s article: The Real Reason Pharma Companies Hate Medical Marijuana (It Works)
This isn’t my typical kind of article. Normally, I’d include something like this in my links post, but as I continued reading this piece it became apparent this is one of the most fascinating things I’ve read all year.
What follows are excepts from the Wired article, Would You Take LSD to Give You a Boost at Work? WIRED Takes a Trip Inside the World of Microdosing. I strongly suggest reading the entire thing.
It’s 7am on a sunny Friday in a shared house in the sleepy San Francisco neighbourhood of Richmond. Flatmates buzz in and out of the kitchen as Lily (not her real name), a publicist for several startups, sits down with cup of tea and a credit-card-sized bag of dried magic mushrooms.

Why I Left Canada And Became A Citizen Of The Dominican Republic

Many might ask, why would a Canadian citizen want to become a citizen of the Dominican Republic?
The answer is actually quite long and lengthy.
To begin with, as an anarcho-capitalist, I consider governments to be illegitimate and taxation to be theft.  However, the entire world, unfortunately, is covered in statism like a giant skin rash… and so, then, the next best option if you want to live somewhat of a normal life and be able to travel is to become a citizen of the best country that suits your personal needs.
I was born in Canada but I would never say I am a “proud Canadian”.  The reason is that you cannot be proud of something you had nothing to do with.  I was just born there… and that made me a Canadian citizen. Apparently, I owed the government about half of whatever I make in my life for that “privilege”.

Lads! Britain Needs You To Do Your Duty And Get Flirting

'After 50 years of browbeating men, women wonder why men don’t flirt with them any more. And women think they are the more intelligent sex!!!' - MB J4MB
By Charlotte Gill: There are lots of things I love about Britain, just not its men.
And I don’t want to stereotype them all, so let me be more specific: I refer to those my own age, who have forced me to bookmark a cattery website. In the romantic arena, trying to meet a man sometimes makes me feel like David Attenborough, stepping into the jungle to locate a Jesus Lizard (a real thing).
Finding Mr Dreamy is difficult because the main strategies a girl can use are wrought with danger. Number one is proactivity: in 2016, it seems fair that a woman can approach a chap she fancies. This sometimes works, but generally does seem to make the man's insides shrivel up when asked “having a good night?” or something equally menacing.
So we consign ourselves to option two: waiting. Which is just as problematic, as nothing happens. That’s the conclusion my friend and I came to last week, while we were sitting at a bar. We’re hardly bad company and several lads gave us a cheeky stare as they did the toilet trot. Still, nothing happened, so we stared sadly into our Mojitos at single reflections.

UK Men’s Working Forum

By William Collins aka mra-uk: This very brief post is simply to bring to your attention an event which is being planned for the weekend of 29th & 30th October 2016, starting on the evening of Friday 28th. From the ad for the event,

The aims of the Forum are (i) to identify activities that would eradicate male inequalities, (ii) to build a national network of male activists based upon social interaction between, and personal knowledge of, individual members, and, (iii) to help the Men’s Movement project a more professional public and political front.
I have placed a copy of the flyer for the event here (pdf) and here (Word doc).
The event is primarily for men wishing to do something about male disadvantages.
It will take place in Bath. I urge you to attend if you have any interest in doing more than complaining.

Turkey/Zio-Neo-Con-Artist US Invade Syria - Hillary Gets 'No-Fly' Zone

RonPaul: Today the Turkish military together with the US invaded a section of northern Syria. Billed as an anti-ISIS operation, it is more about establishing long-wished-for "no-fly" zones in Syria. Major escalation. How will Russia respond?

Children Of The American Police State: Just Another Brick In The Wall

We don’t need no education
We don’t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone…
All in all it’s just another brick in the wall
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall.

-Pink Floyd, “Another Brick in the Wall"

By John W. Whitehead: The [US] nation’s young people have been given front-row seats for an unfolding police drama that is rated R for profanity, violence and adult content. - In Arizona, a 7-year-old girl watched panic-stricken as a state trooper pointed his gun at her and her father during a traffic stop and reportedly threatened to shoot her father in the back (twice) based on the mistaken belief that they were driving a stolen rental car.

The Term “Conspiracy Theory” Was Invented by the CIA In Order To Prevent Disbelief of Official Government Stories

Introduction by Paul Craig Roberts: Ron Unz reports below on the cold shoulder given to an extensively researched book that concludes that World War II hero General George Patton was murdered by the CIA because he became a powerful critic of Zionist Washington.
The book was ignored because the US media and public have been programmed to regard the US government as a truth-teller and those who expose government crimes as “conspiracy theorists.”

American Pravda: Was General Patton Assassinated?
: During the long Cold War many Russians grew sufficiently disenchanted with the lies and omissions of their own news outlets that they turned to Western radio for a glimpse of the truth.
The growth of the Internet has now provided Americans with a similar opportunity to click on a foreign website and discover the important stories that have somehow escaped the attention of their own leading journalists. Ironically, much of such “alternative media” coverage actually appears in the leading British newspapers, eminently respectable and published in our closest historic ally.
